 Checkers is OFA Good, Eyes ACVO annually and has full dentition.
She is retired from breeding, but a most intrigal part of our present kennel.
She brought to our present lines a very sweet expression, good rear angulation and second thigh and excellent toplines.
Most importantly she gave our lines that perfect, willing to please, yet very calm labrador nature that will stay with our dogs for generations.

Checkers has a beautiful head and expression, and the nicest tail I've ever seen on a labrador. Checkers and Ethan in the duck blind


Checkers quickly took to the water, and was soon retrieving to hand, and doing doubles and triples.


Nothing excites Checkers more than a brisk fall morning on the Mississippi and the sound of gunfire.


Checkers spends most of her time keeping the sofa warm, relocating our shoes, babysitting the kids, and doing pet therapy work locally.


Checkers is the "Mom" to all the other labradors currently at Penara. She reproduces her lovely head, good topline, and of course her pleasant mellow attitude.
